Every unforgettable show starts with a spark of inspiration. For Chris Yuill, that spark came at a young age when he first dreamed of performing magic. A childhood picture of him with a magician’s hat captured the start of a lifelong passion. Years later, in 1993, a chance encounter with a street magician in an Edmonton mall reignited that dream. At the time, Chris was running a construction company specializing in metal roofing, but the pull of magic was too strong to ignore.

That moment led him to a local magic store where every trick, illusion, and routine sparked his imagination. Whatever the owner demonstrated, Chris eagerly bought and mastered. He even began building props himself. While balancing construction by day and magic by night, Chris’s commitment grew. Eventually, he left the construction world behind to pursue his passion full time, a decision that has brought him over 29 years of success on stages across Canada and beyond.

Chris Yuill is not just another magician; he is a seasoned entertainer who combines mind-blowing illusions with hilarious audience participation. His unique style has earned him invitations to perform at Yuk-Yuks Comedy Club, private functions for the Edmonton Oilers, corporate events for Coca-Cola, shows at the Fantasyland Hotel, and even a national TV special, Off the Wall. Since his early days, Chris has built a reputation for making every event memorable. His ability to blend quick wit with masterful sleight of hand has kept audiences, from private weddings to cruise ship theaters, laughing and amazed in equal measure.
Over nearly three decades, Chris’s talent has been recognized with numerous awards:P.C.A.M. Pro Challenge Champion (2006), Close-Up and Stage Magic Winner, P.C.A.M. (2010, Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas), Stage Magician of the Year, Comedy Magician of the Year, Celeste Evans Magician of the Year, Leon Mandrake Award for Excellence in Showmanship and Creativity and Carl Hemeon Award of Excellence (2025, Society of American Magicians, Assembly #95). Each accolade reflects not just skill, but Chris’s ability to connect with audiences through laughter and wonder.

Chris’s journey has taken him from Alberta to British Columbia, a move motivated by both lifestyle and opportunity. Living closer to cruise lines has allowed him to expand into one of his dream performance spaces: cruise ships. After sending out applications, he secured contracts, proving his act resonates in diverse settings. While some schedules conflicted with prior commitments in Canada, his ambition to grow in this direction remains strong.
Looking ahead, Chris is focused on reaching even more audiences through corporate events, cruises, and festivals. With creative new routines in development and a strong foundation of experience, he is determined to bring his unique blend of magic and comedy to both loyal fans and new audiences worldwide.

What makes Chris Yuill stand out is more than his tricks. It is his ability to make people laugh, connect, and leave with lasting memories. Reviews from corporate executives, newlyweds, party planners, and fellow performers all echo the same sentiment: his shows are not only professional and polished, but also filled with heart.
Whether it is dazzling a small group with up-close sleight of hand, commanding a stage at a gala, or bringing joy to a holiday party, Chris ensures every show feels personal and unforgettable. As one client said, “Don’t even look any further, book Chris now!”
