Cannie Liew’s passion for the beauty industry began in childhood, and she always knew she wanted to build a career in it. After high school, she pursued her dream by enrolling at Blanche Macdonald, a renowned beauty school in Vancouver, where she studied skincare and makeup. As her journey progressed, Cannie discovered permanent makeup and fell in love with the craft. She apprenticed in Asia and also took permanent makeup courses in Canada, mastering a blend of Eastern and Western techniques to deliver exceptional and unique results.
Cannie eventually launched her own business in Vancouver, A Beauty Minimalist, offering services like microblading, permanent eyeliner, and lip blush. She finds immense joy in seeing her clients’ happiness, enhancing their natural beauty without altering their identity. Many have shared how her work has boosted their confidence, making them feel more self-assured. Cannie also appreciates how her services support busy parents who rarely have time for self-care, knowing she’s making a positive impact in their lives.
To give back to the community, Cannie provides free brows for cancer patients before their chemotherapy treatments. Looking ahead, she is dedicated to continuous learning in the ever-evolving beauty industry, with plans to teach and grow her business alongside fellow passionate artists.
